Documentary Production

Independent and client-driven documentary work rooted in 40 years of production experience — and a genuine belief that the right story, told well, can change things.

Forty Years In. More Inspired Than Ever.

After 40 years in the production business, I’ve never felt more humbled or more energized by the work I’ve been doing in recent years. I’ve found a meaningful balance between creating films for clients and pursuing stories of my own.

Every project begins with a plan, an idea of what we want to say, but the truth is, stories evolve. They shift and surprise you as new perspectives emerge and real life inevitably finds its way in.

Producing independent films brings its own set of challenges. It means raising funds, building support, and ultimately finding the right platform for the finished piece. From local screenings to international film festivals, to securing television or streaming distribution—it’s a demanding process, all in pursuit of reaching the widest possible audience. And sometimes, along the way, a project becomes far more important than we could have hoped.

Voices of Hope — A Series That Keeps Giving Back.

Our ongoing series on addiction in Maine, Voices of Hope, has aired multiple times on Maine Public and continues to be shown in recovery centers.

Over the past two years, we’ve brought participants from the series into more than 125 schools, where they’ve shared their stories directly with students—opening honest conversations and answering difficult questions. We’ve heard from teachers about the impact of these visits, but the real measure is something we may never fully know: how many lives may have changed course because of a deeper understanding of substance abuse.

Have an Idea Worth Exploring?
